The NACO 2013 Directory of County Officials
is now available. The directory is an annual publication that
provides names and addresses for elected and appointed county
officials in the state. A directory is available for $17.00
if non-taxable and $18.00 if taxable.

Leon Kolbet Elected President of Nebraska Association of County Officials
LINCOLN – Hayes County Commissioner, Leon Kolbet was elected 2013 President of the Nebraska Association of County Officials during the organization’s 118th annual state conference conducted in Kearney, Nebraska on December 12-14, 2012. Currently vice president, Kolbet was a unanimous selection of the 750 county officials who participated in the event.
Kolbet has been a Hayes County Commissioner since 1988.
County officials also elected Johnson County Commissioner, Terry Keebler as NACO Vice President, Buffalo County Supervisor, Sherry Morrow as NACO Second Vice President and Robert Post, Banner County Commissioner as NACO Secretary-Treasurer for 2012.

David Walton Receives Association's Highest Award
LINCOLN – Franklin County Commissioner David Walton, was honored by the Nebraska Association of County Officials as the County Official of the Year during the state association’s annual conference in Kearney on December 12-14, 2012.
Walton was selected from a field of nominees, according to NACO Executive Director, Larry Dix.
“David Walton is an outstanding public official who has dedicated himself to serving not only the residents of Franklin County, but also the state of Nebraska. He is a highly respected county commissioner who serves as an excellent example to others, Dix said.
Walton has been Franklin County Commissioner since 1988. During his career, he has served on numerous government and community boards. Walton earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart as a Marine in the Korean War.
